The Ferretti Group

The Ferretti Group today is one of the biggest yacht building corporations worldwide. Yachts between 7 and 65 metres are behind 9 brand names the company stands for: Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Apreamare, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft, Custom Line and CRN.

The empire of the group today includes 17 ship yards, 16 of which are located in Italy and one in the USA. More than 2,000 staffers vouch for quality and the reputation of the most famous names in the yacht industry. Numerous supplier and subcontractors also take responsibility for these products.

The ship yard that was founded by the brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti in 1968, and which started with building motor sailboats, distinguished themselves in the 70ies and 80ies by designing and building offshore ships, daily cruisers and flybridge yachts. The international market was also interested in Ferretti products beyond Europe’s borders.

In the years after 1997 Ferretti went on course of expansion and bought ship yards, such as Custom Line first, and then later in 1998 Pershing and Bertram in the USA. In 1999 the CRN ship yard expands Ferretti, which is specialised in building super yachts made from aluminium and steel. The 100 percent takeover of the Italian yacht classic Riva, which immediately became the talk of the town due to its retro style and the world-famous name from the sixties, was a masterstroke in the year of 2000.

The Ferretti Group continued with acquisitions and bought the ship yard Apreamare in Sorrento in August of the following year and thus completed its manifold range of motor yachts with another highlight from the Italian ship building industry. Particularly the takeover of Mochi Craft in November 2001 extended the range of boats and Ferretti distinguishes itself with high-quality Lobster boats on the boat market.

Stock Market Flotation in 2000/2001 was awarded with another great success. However, their decision for the stock market was called off in 2002 in order to be able to continue planned expansion of the company independently and for the good of interests of the single elements of the Ferretti Group. And this path is followed continuously. In 2004 when the Ferretti Group acquired Pershing, the ship yard Itama, which offers open motor yachts and thus prestige objects, was bought.

A consequential way which will also be followed in future for the client’s benefit – for their wishes and demands that they place on the yacht individually tailored for them.
