Peter Gruber

… has been shuffling the cards in the international boat business since 1989 and has been responsible for the development of the boat business in Bad Oeynhausen for many years. His career in the boat business got started in the 90ies, when he was the managing director and co-partner of the company Yachtcenter Krick. Until the sale of his shares and his retreat from the managing board of Sunseeker Europe AG in 2002, Peter Gruber had made history at the Weser. His retreat as an independent gentleman, however, only worked until the year of 2005. He then was again caught up by the spirits of the yacht industry and the next boat chapter of his life was getting started. As an associate of the Italian Yacht Centre, he and his partner Thomas Ploss bought back the former Sunseeker hall in Bad Oeynhausen and then did another brilliant coup – the Ferretti Group sees the new company to be the perfect partner for the German market, where the Ferretti brands Pershing, Apreamare and Mochi Craft have been represented successfully since September 1, 2005.

Thomas Ploss

…has been successfully working as a management consultant for 16 years in Bad Oeynhausen and his company Ploss Concept focuses on companies in the East Westphalia area and the Ruhr Basin. As a financial strategist he mainly concentrates his experience on the Italian Yacht Centre. In 2004, the yacht project was initiated and was prepared together the shipyards and Pete Gruber. The following year, on September 1, foundation was laid for the Italian Yacht Centre, and now together with his partner Pete Gruber he managed to provide the company a solid basis. Of course, the brand-new associate knew it from the start that the company was going to be a success story anyway. He and his partner are elaborating a formula for success, which comprises well tried, innovative thinking and customer-oriented strategy. Precise preparation and smart management lead to the desired success – and that proves him right.

Jens Westerbeck

- the youngster in out team. He has been working as a freelance broker for high-quality economic goods since 1999. Pragmatism took him to the Cannes Boat Show in Cannes in 2005 and to the side of partners of the Italian Yacht Centre – Pete Gruber and Thomas Ploss. Since then he has been firmly bound to the company and successfully uses his sale strategies in the boat business.

Frank Oelmann

Not a man for all cases, but a man for all boat services. As a trained communication engineer and boat builder (trained for the GPR section) the subject “yacht” is an open book to him. He has been closely chained to the boat business since 1997, and has perfected his knowledge by attending several training courses and works for the Italian Yacht Centre as a self-employed service engineer in the field of engines, air conditioning, generators, yacht electronics, navigation, and he knows the ropes of wood and polyester processing. Customers can benefit from his service both ashore and on the water: Mr. Oelmann is an expert. The transport of boat inland and abroad is also a part of his daily routine, such as service, which is part of a professional boat delivery. For more detailed information on Mr. Oelmann, please read page 44 of this issue.

Antje Leifert

„You always meet three times!“ That at least is the case with Antje Leifert and Peter Gruber, who has run into each other time and time again. In 1989, they worked as collegues at Bootscenter Krick for Sunseeker. Some years later they met again as owner and assistant to the Yachtcenter Krick, and then lost sight of each other for a few years. While Pete Gruber still remained bound to Sunseeker, Antje Leifert set the first landmark for Ferretti and Pershing in Holland early 1998. Late 1999, she established herself together with her business partners again in Germany; she also used to work for Yachting Point – again dealing with the brands of the Ferretti Group – which, however, was sold in 2003. Since then Antje Leifert has stuck up fort he section „service fort the boat industry“ and has been working with her company „Pro Scribere“ for the Italian Yacht Centre since September 2005; she mainly focuses on marketing. And now she is at Peter Gruber’s side fort the third time.
